Perceived Stress Scale

The questions in this scale ask you about your feelings and thoughts during the last month. In each case, you will be asked to indicate by selecting the answer that correlates to how often you felt or thought a certain way.
0 = Never, 1 = Almost Never, 2 = Sometimes, 3 = Fairly Often, 4 = Very Often

Q9. In the last month, how often have you been angered because of things that were outside of your control?
Q10. In the last month, how often have you felt difficulties were piling up so high that you could not overcome them?

Levels of stress: Low

You are considered to have LOW levels of perceived stress

Levels of stress: Moderate

You are considered to have MODERATE levels of perceived stress

Levels of stress: High Perceived

You are considered to have HIGH PERCEIVED levels of perceived stress

► Scores ranging from 0-13 would be considered low stress.

► Scores ranging from 14-26 would be considered moderate stress.

► Scores ranging from 27-40 would be considered high perceived stress.

Privacy & Confidentiality

All enquiries and counseling sessions are private and confidential. During supervision, identities of the clients are not revealed. Only in exceptional circumstances would confidentiality be broken. The exceptional circumstances would be if :

  • There is a clear and immediate danger to an individual or to society
  • There is a legal compulsion to make the disclosure and a failure or refusal to comply will constitute a criminal offense or contempt of court.

Your counselor will explain to you in detail on your first counseling session.
