Anger Managment

Anger, is a normal and neutral emotion arises when our boundaries are perceived to be violated. However, when anger becomes chronic and unmanageable, manifesting as a persistent “fight” response in the “fight-flight-freeze” survival mode, it can lead to feelings of constant irritation, a lowered threshold for triggers, and a negative impact on relationships and work performance.

Counselling help understand the root causes often tied to past traumas, unresolved conflicts, or deep-seated fears. By encouraging a shift from a constant “survival mode” to a more peaceful mindset, counselling empowers individuals to choose responses to emotions rather than reacting impulsively.

Bipolar

Living with bipolar disorder can be incredibly challenging, as the constant fluctuations in mood can disrupt daily life, relationships, and occupational functioning. The symptoms experienced during manic episodes, such as increased energy, racing thoughts, impulsivity, grandiosity, and decreased need for sleep, can be particularly difficult to manage.

The unpredictable nature of these episodes can leave individuals feeling isolated, misunderstood, and overwhelmed. It’s important to know that you don’t have to face these challenges alone.

Depression

Depression affects many people, showing various symptoms such as persistent feelings of sadness, hopelessness, emptiness, a diminished interest or pleasure in activities, fluctuations in appetite or weight, sleep disturbances, constant fatigue or low energy, an overwhelming sense of worthlessness or guilt, difficulty concentrating or making decisions, irritability or restlessness, physical symptoms such as headaches or stomachaches, and thoughts of death or suicide. It’s essential to remember that not everyone with depression will experience all these symptoms, and their severity and duration can differ significantly from one person to another.

Grief and Loss

Loss is an inevitable part of life, whether it’s the death of loved ones, the departure of close friends, or other traumatic events. Grief is a natural response to these losses. Common reactions include shock, denial, anger, and sadness, which can disrupt our routines and leave us feeling overwhelmed.

It’s important to understand that everyone grieves differently and at their own pace. However, if grief persists and starts to impact your daily functioning, work, or relationships, professional help may be beneficial. Seeking support can provide guidance and assistance in navigating through the grieving process.

Stress and Anxiety

Living in a fast-paced, ever-changing urban city can be incredibly stressful. We are constantly trying to keep up with numerous demands in our family, challenges in the workplace, rigorous school work, insufficient financial gains, and conflicting human relationships.

Sometimes, stress can become overwhelming and lead to burnout, mood, and anxiety issues, such as sleep problems, panic attacks, phobia, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive behaviors, hoarding, hair-pulling, skin-picking, and eating disorders, etc. These issues can cause disruptions in our daily functioning and relationships.

Trauma

Experiencing trauma can be incredibly distressing and leave lasting effects on your mental, emotional, and physical well-being. It’s important to remember that these challenges are not your fault, and you are not defined by the traumatic events you have experienced.

People who have experienced trauma often struggle with symptoms like anxiety, depression, persistent negative thoughts, feelings of helplessness, intrusive memories, flashbacks, and nightmares, which can lead to avoidance of places, people, or situations that remind them of the traumatic event. Additionally, they may face difficulties in regulating emotions, maintaining relationships, and feeling secure in their environment.

We believe that you are more than your traumas, and you deserve to find peace, regain control, and live a life that is not overshadowed by your traumatic experiences.

Couple Issues

Relationships are not static; they evolve and change. Therefore, we need to continually put effort into learning effective ways to nurture and sustain them. Challenges can occur at different stages of a couple’s relationship.

These can range from burnout, conflict, extra-marital affairs, sexual issues, in-law conflicts, discrepancies in parenting, dealing with illness, to making decisions on separation and divorce.

Couple counselling can help couples to identify negative interactional cycles, de-escalate conflicts, explore commitment to the relationship, learn new attitudes to embrace each others’ needs, and acquire new methods of emotional co-regulation.
